The last six and a half weeks have been amazing! We have traversed across western Kenya teaching and encouraging the body of Christ. We have had adventures together as a family that we will never forget. God has been so faithful to sustain us physically, emotionally and spiritually. It has been great to spend time with many old friends and to cultivate new relationships that we believe will lead to more opportunities for ministry in new areas of this beautiful country.
We have conducted six different seminars and have had the opportunity to interact with many pastors and leaders from the rural areas. It has been so encouraging to see how open hearted everyone has been to the truths of God’s word. Many times over the past weeks I have been reminded of Paul’s words to the believers in Thessalonica.
“For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.” (1 Thess. 2:13)
Over and over the truth of God’s word has opened people’s eyes and set them free from many lies that have kept them from experiencing the fullness of God’s love and grace. Each seminar has been so rich with fellowship around meals and special times of dialogue together. We believe that the fruit of all that God has done will remain and that many more lives will be impacted as a result of what God has done during these two months.
This week we are back at the DIGUNA mission station in Tinderet. We both have the opportunity to teach on the station this week. On Monday I will leave for Vihiga for the last seminar before we begin our journey home next Saturday.
We are looking forward to being together again with Camille and Natalie in South Africa. Things will continue to be busy after we return home. On Monday Wesley will return to school and I will start teaching in a YWAM DTS in Worcester. We will also receive our great friends, Rick and Judy Montgomery, from the USA for a much overdue visit! Stephanie has three clients who are expected to give birth within a month of our return. Natalie will leave for the USA a week after we arrive home where she will finish out her gap year before she starts university in January back in South Africa.
Thank you so much for your prayers for us as a family. Your prayers have a huge impact as you partner with us here in Africa.
