To say we live in interesting times is an understatement. I have never been one to offer too many opinions nor have much concern about things that are happening in the world around us. I believe the greatest remedy is to continually look to Jesus and rest in His grace and peace. I was reminded again today of a verse that always encourages me and it seems to really be practical for us today. It is found in the little book of Jude. Jude tells us that the apostles and Jesus told us that “in the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts” and that these are ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. Then I love what the Lord tells us through Jude to do during such times. He tells us to build ourselves up on our most holy faith, keeping ourselves in the love of God, and to wait anxiously for the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. This is such an encouraging perspective and reminder for us today. It is too easy to get caught up in all the conversations around us about all the bad things going on in the world. These things only distract us when in reality they should not come as a surprise to the children of God. Our response to it all should be to build ourselves up by standing firm in our most holy faith, to continue to walk in the love of God for all people and to have an anxious expectation for the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ! God always knows what we need and when we need it and now is the time to embrace His provision for us and walk in this life-giving encouragement. God bless you today as you build yourself up in faith, walk in love and wait eagerly for the return of Jesus!
